Project Droid: Soccer Shocker by Nancy Krulik and Amanda Burwasser Illustrated by Mike Moran

This book is about a boy named Logan and his android cousin, Java.  Logan's mother signs Java up on Logan's soccer team.  Logan doesn't really like the idea. He knows what kind of trouble this can be. Java is a good player, he is faster than the other players, and he uses his feet, butt and belly to hit the ball.  All the team players love Java!!!  He makes them "look good" and they win the game!!!   Logan "use to" be the teams high scorer now Java gets all the attention!  Logan gets mad and retaliates!  But this goes all wrong!!!  Now Java can't play, the team is on their own!  Logan has to come up with an idea, they are losing the game, they haven't even scored one point!

This book is for ages 7-9.  It's a book that you will want to keep reading to see what happens next.  I think it would be best to read the Project Droid: Science No Fair! first, if you plan to read more than one.  But, it is also fine by itself.  It's a wonderful reading book for young readers, it is funny and entertaining!  This book will make a wonderful gift. The pictures illustrated in the book are fantastic!  They really capture the feelings of the characters. At the end of the book there is a project for adult and child to do together.
