My Little Valentine Book Review

     Staff writer Patty Boardman shares...

My Little Valentine

The story of a mother and daughter's lost love

by KelLee Parr

This is truly an amazing true story about a mother giving her daughter up for adoption, but never forgetting, and wondering what has become of her. The daughter (Wanda) also knowing that she was adopted, as an infant, always wanted to meet her birth mother.  The daughter (Wanda) now having children of her own gives each of her three children a copy of her adoption papers.KelLee, one of Wanda's children, and a school teacher, went to the Kansas State Historical Building, researching information for his class.  While there he saw people using  microfiche machines,  which are usually used for looking for their ancestors.  He wondered if he could find his mother's mother (his grandmother).

So the journey begins ... He is excited about finding information that can lead him to his grandmother. He is doing all this research for his mother who has always said she wanted to meet her mother some day. KelLee has a way of writing that will draw you right into the story. As I read the story I could "see" the red barn and the dust blowing up in the air as he drives his truck down that dusty road.  You can feel the excitement he has when he found what he was looking for!  The book is easy to read, but a hard to put down book. The chapters are short but always leaving you with that open ending that makes you want to know what's next?. There is not a dull section. People are being added to the story continually and they all play an important part. The love displayed in this family is incredible. How fortunate this family is to have KelLee to write such a wonderful true story to have as a treasure to pass down, and also to share with the world!  It is a story that many will enjoy and want to keep on there book shelf to read over again. As I began reading this book I was so excited about it and began telling others who requested information on where they could get a copy! Here is the link for you too so you can order a copy for your family click here .
